Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined (You can use frozen too—just thaw them first!)
  • 4 cloves of garlic minced (If you’re feeling lazy, garlic powder works in a pinch—about 1 teaspoon.)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter for extra lusciousness!
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for that spicy kick
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Juice of 1 lemon fresh or bottled, I won't judge!
  • Fresh parsley chopped (a sprinkle for garnish, and it makes it look all fancy!)

Instructions

  • Prep Your Shrimp: Give your shrimp a quick rinse in cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Dry shrimp take to seasoning better!
  • Get Your Sizzle On: In a large frying pan, heat up that olive oil over medium-high heat. You want it hot but not smoking.
  • Garlic Galore: Once your oil is nice and hot, throw in the minced garlic. Cook it for about 1 minute until it’s fragrant but be careful not to burn it—burnt garlic is not our friend!
  • Shrimp Dive: Now, add your shrimp to the pan. Spread them out a bit to ensure they cook evenly. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque.
  • Buttery Goodness: When your shrimp are looking fabulous, toss in the butter and squeeze that lemon juice all over the top. Give it a gentle stir to mix everything up. The butter will melt into a luscious sauce that’s perfect for dipping!
  • Final Touches: Remove your pan from the heat and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Voilà! You’ve done it; you’ve made garlic shrimp!
